Clarence Eddy was one of the most famous and respected organists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. As such, many composers from both France and the United States dedicated compositions in his honor.
On June 10, 1893, he “opened” (i.e. dedicated in 19th century parlance) our J.W. Steere& Sons organ at its former home at Fifth Presbyterian Church in Chicago.
