Online Giving FAQ
Is my giving information secure?
Absolutely. Any personal or financial information you enter is encrypted using SSL security – the same state-of-the-art security measures used by online retailers, banks, and other financial institutions.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept donations from credit/debit cards as well as your bank account. While the church is happy to accept your donation by any means, donations through your bank account cost us less in transaction fees, allowing more of your gift to go towards ministry.
Do I need to create an account to make a donation?
No. You do not need to set up an account unless you wish to set up recurring donations, save your method of giving, or track your history of giving.
Will I receive a receipt when I give online?
Yes. You will be emailed a donation receipt each time you give. We recommend creating an account so you can view all your online giving history.
Is there a minimum or maximum I can give online?
No. But if you are interested in making a large gift, we recommend you contact director of shared ministry, Suelyn Swiggum, as our online giving security may unintentionally flag large donations for security reasons.
Pledging FAQ
What does it mean to pledge?
By making a pledge you indicate your desire and intent to help support Luther Memorial financially in the coming year. You choose the amount you wish to give, and how frequently. For many, making a pledge is a practice that deepens faith.
How are my pledge donations used?
Your giving is vital to the daily work of our congregation. By pledging to the General Fund, you create opportunities for worship and music, learning for all ages, small group and community enrichment, and outreach programs to serve our neighbors in need. Additionally, your pledge also covers regular building maintenance and repairs, and Luther Memorial’s support to our synod and other key ministry partners. By pledging to the Capital Appeal fund, you support renovation and enhancements to the church building in service to LM’s mission and ministry, and historical preservation.
How much should I give?
Give an amount that is meaningful to you. Prayerfully consider what is possible for your household at this time. Many in our parish strive to tithe, to give 10% of their income away to charity each year.
How much should I increase my pledge to the General Fund?
We have set a target goal to increase 2025 pledged income by 3.5%. If you are able to help our congregation reach that goal, please do what you can!
Can I pledge online?
Yes. To make your pledge online, go to www.luthermem.org/
Do I need to submit a new pledge if I already have a recurring gift set up online?
It’s very helpful if you can. This action also gives you an opportunity to prayerfully consider the amount and frequency of your gift for the coming year.
