A posada is a Mexican Christmas celebration—a reenactment of Mary and Joseph’s search for lodging (posada means inn) before Jesus’ birth. Pastor Juan Carlos Cabrera will lead us in a warm, informal gathering to pray for one another, sing traditional Christmas carols and take part in the classic call-and-response for pedir posada. The singing becomes active as we walk through the church, knocking on doors to see who will give us posada. Don’t worry if you don’t have a great voice or miss every note—this is all about feeling the warmth of the season.
