Giving FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • Is online giving secure?

Yes. Luther Memorial’s online giving is administered by Vanco Services. Vanco Services is a PCI (Payment Card Industry) Level 1 Compliant Service Provider, which means your transactions are handled in accordance with the most rigorous security standards. When you click the "Make a gift" button, you are taken to the Vanco Services website (www.eservicepayments.com) to process your contribution. At any time, you may return to the LM website simply by clicking on the “Return to our Home Page” link.
  • Will I get a receipt?

A confirmation page appears after your payment is submitted. You may print the confirmation page for proof of your donation. Also, an email confirmation (from cs@vancoservices.com) can be sent if you provide a valid email address.
  • When are contributions due for the 2018 tax year?

To ensure your December contributions are reflected in your 2018 statement, please make your year-end gift before the church office closes at noon on December 31. Annual financial statements will include all contributions received by this date/time.

Please consult your tax advisor if you have questions about any December contributions you made to Luther Memorial that were received after closing on Dec. 31, to discern if they are tax deductible in 2018.

  • When should I initiate year-end stock and mutual fund gifts?

Because year-end stock and mutual fund gifts can take many weeks to process, it's best to initiate these gifts by early December, to ensure they are received by the church office before closing on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018 at noon. Thank you.
