Gatherings

The Eucharist (Holy Communion, the Lord’s Supper) is the church’s primary gathering. The church gathers to hear the good news and receive bread and wine: we feast on Christ in word and sacrament.  All other gatherings stem from this assembly, even as all other gatherings point to the Sunday assembly. The Spirit gathers us in to send us out.

There are many ways to make connections at Luther Memorial. Here a just a few. See the Weekly announcements for more information and opportunities.

Discussion groups

Men’s, Women’s, and Student’s groups meet periodically throughout the year for an evening of conversation and refreshments. Topics and speakers vary. Often the group will select a reading.

Senior Day

Luther Memorial members and friends gather quarterly at Oakwood Village West for worship and fellowship. Programs typically begin with Eucharist held in the Resurrection Chapel, followed by a cost luncheon and special presentation in the Nakoma/Westmoreland rooms.

Breadbreakers

Breadbreakers is an easy way to get acquainted with others at Luther Memorial. Each Breadbreaker group of 6 – 10 people shares a monthly meal for three consecutive months, after which the small groups are shuffled and the fun starts again. Families, singles and couples of all ages are welcome! To learn more or to sign up, contact Kirsten & Mike Heggeseth (kheggeseth@gmail.com or 848-1164) or stop by the welcome desk.

Food & Fellowship

All are invited to Saturday night conversation with church friends over good food: what’s not to like?  Watch the weekly announcements for place and time. Meets monthly.
