Faith formation

The Spirit forms the church’s faith through worship, study, service, and fellowship—the mutual consolation of the baptized people of God. Luther Memorial Church offers a variety of learning opportunities for people of all ages and life experience: Sunday morning classes, including the Adult Forum are augmented by Confirmation (Affirmation of Baptism) classes for young people, groups and retreats for women and men, theological conferences, and visiting teachers from the wider church and community.Luther Memorial provides a variety of ministry opportunities for people of all ages.  Some of the ministries we offer include:

Sunday School

Ages: 3 years – grade 6
Sundays 9:15 – 10:15 a.m.  (Education wing, 3rd floor)

Children share in a gathering song, then move into a classroom setting.  Special events are scheduled periodically throughout the year.

Confirmation

Ages: grade 7-12
Sundays: 6 – 7:45 p.m. (Great Room, Library, Parlor)

Confirmation classes meet on Sunday evenings for dinner, student-led evening prayer and instruction led by lay leaders and the pastors.  Special events for youth are scheduled throughout the year, including a fall retreat and lock-ins.

Adult Forum

Sundays: 9:15 a.m. (Great Room)

Sunday morning Adult Forum offers discussion on a variety of topics. Other opportunities for education include Bible study on Wednesdays at 10:45 a.m. (Fireside Room), monthly women’s and men’s groups and annual fall retreats.
